Candidate Info Pack

Hi there 👋
Here's what you need to know before your interviews!

Our interview process varies depending on the role and location. We try to keep it brief while still getting to know each other well.

Most interviews are held online on MS Teams since our teams are spread across three locations. We might also invite you to our office for an in-person interview if the hiring team is all in one place.

Depending on the role, you can expect a combination of the following steps during our recruitment process.

Phone Call

When we receive lots of applications, we often kick off the process with a quick phone call. It's a chance to hear more about your interest, clear up any questions we might have, and cover some practical details. No need to stress about preparing for this – think of it as a friendly chat to get things started!

First Interview

This is our introductory meeting to get to know each other. You meet your potential manager and/or recruiter and get to discuss how your professional background and skills fit into the role. We also share more about Sievo and our culture. You'll have a good understanding of the role, and if not - ask away!

Assignment

Depending on the role, we might ask you to work on an assignment with a set deadline. You might be asked to either present it in a meeting or simply submit it for evaluation. We try to give clear instructions while also allowing for your creativity to shine. However, if you need further clarification on the task, feel free to reach out.

Second Interview

Second interviews are usually focused on the skills evaluation. You might see some familiar faces from the 1st interview, but also some new ones - your potential team members! Here the discussion will cover more role specific tasks. If there is a preceding assignment, you can expect to present your findings and solutions in this meeting.

Final Interview

In the last interview, you might have a meeting with a VP or other team members or our CEO. You can expect to discuss the bigger picture of how this role would fit into Sievo’s landscape - you can reflect on everything you’ve learnt about Sievo and the role so far. Your career path, ambitions, and professional values might also be on the agenda.

How to prepare?

🔍 Understand what we do

Research Sievo and try to get a grasp of how this role fits into our business.

Reading the job description carefully should help with this. If the opening is no longer online, feel free to reach out to the recruiter and ask for the link.

💬 Practise introducing yourself

We would love to hear you describe your professional background, so no shame in preparing for it.

Focus on the most relevant experience and skills and highlight them in your introduction.

🤗 Bring your personality

Sievo is a low-hierarchy organisation, we love to have fun and build meaningful connections.

We hope that you feel comfortable being yourself and sharing a glimpse of your own personality!

❓Get your questions ready

While doing your research, you might identify some questions you have not found answers to. Whether it’s about Sievo, the role or the recruitment process, note them down! At the end of each meeting you will get a chance to ask your questions!

Interview myths vs. reality

013 Sievo 6-2023 HIGH RES-2

"I should never ask questions during an interview; it's all about them asking me."

Reality:
Asking thoughtful questions about Sievo, team dynamics, structure, and the role demonstrates your interest and engagement. It also helps you gather essential information to determine if Sievo is the right fit for you – which is equally important.

050 Sievo 6-2023 HIGH RES-1

"Interviewers only care about technical skills"

Reality: Soft skills such as communication, teamwork, adaptability, and problem-solving are equally important at Sievo. We assign equal importance to these qualities because they contribute to a positive work environment and successful collaboration.

019 Sievo 6-2023 HIGH RES

"I should always answer every question, even if I don't know the answer."

Reality: It's okay not to know the answer to every question. Being honest and admitting when you don't know something is better than trying to evade the question.

Turn this into an opportunity by expressing your willingness to learn more and engage in a discussion with the interviewers to further your understanding. An "intent to learn" attitude is always appreciated at Sievo.

"Interviewers have a fixed set of questions, and I should stick strictly to the answers I've prepared"

Reality: While preparation is important, interviews at Sievo can be dynamic, and interviewers may ask follow-up questions or explore different aspects of your experiences. It's essential to be adaptable and engage in a conversation rather than adhering rigidly to rehearsed responses.

What do we do?

Sievo is a Finnish-born SaaS company providing procurement analytics for large data-driven enterprises around the world.

What is procurement, and procurement analytics?

In simple terms, procurement is a process of buying goods and services. Large global enterprises normally have a Procurement team, just like IT or Finance.

Procurement teams are responsible for making decisions on what to buy, from who, how much, and on which terms. You can image that these decisions are crucial for business’s success and profitability.

That’s why procurement professionals are in need of procurement analytics to make decisions based on their own data. This is where Sievo comes in!

How does Sievo provide value?

We provide procurement analytics, e.g. Spend Analysis, by combining customers’ internal data with external data from 3rd party data providers.

This allows us to centralise procurement data in our solution and showcase a big picture with an option of drilling down to individual purchases.

What is procurement data?

Procurement data can come in different forms: from invoices, purchase orders, and contracts to supplier information, market & benchmark data.

Who are our customers?

We are proudly serving over 150+ global customers, like Levi’s, Unilever, MARS, Fortum and others. Learn more on our customer case studies here.
