Be yourself!

My tips for the future Sievonians: Be yourself – there's no one else like you, and that's your superpower!

Show excitement for learning new things – you don't have to know everything right off the bat. Just be eager to learn and grow! The Summer Academy is all about embracing new challenges and showing that you're ready to dive in headfirst.

So, bring your enthusiasm, your curiosity, and your best self, and you'll fit right in! 

Everyone is always willing to help.  

I never felt like I had no support when facing challenges.

Another aspect that I like about Sievo is that the culture prioritizes autonomy and learning. You are not thrown in the deep end immediately nor restricted to just menial tasks; you have a great deal of choice over what kind of tasks you want to work on. 

Plus, you get to play pool during work hours at the office! :) 

It was an amazing adventure. 

From the first day, I knew it was the beginning of something incredible.  Eventually, it exceeded all my expectations. It showed me even when we're working hard on something, we can still have fun doing it! It was clear to me that my place was here at Sievo.

I didn't hesitate a second to join as a full-time Software Engineer. Now, I'm excited to see where we can go from here.

Reflecting on my first summer here always brings a smile to my face. :)  

Even in the midst of pandemic, we were able to connect with fellow Summer Seals and share fun times both during & after work.

Fast forward 3.5 years, and I'm still enjoying working at Sievo, now in my dream role, and bumping into my fellow 2020 Summer Seals in the office aisles. When I was in Summer Academy, I could never have envisioned the opportunities Sievo would provide me at the start of my career.
