About us

We are now looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our Materials Forecasting team in Helsinki. The team includes highly driven individuals who develop innovative products that empower our customers to budget and forecast their costs and plan for future profitability.

You will work closely with Product Managers to figure out what the business needs are and at the same time get your hands dirty with the software engineering team to create the best solution for our clients.

As an Analytics Engineer, you will play a key role in connecting the business needs of our clients with the technical data infrastructure of our product. Your focus will be on understanding business goals, translating them into technical solutions, and building the data systems that support informed, data-driven decision-making for our clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders from different teams (e.g., product managers, marketing, executives) to understand their data needs and help turn these into actionable technical plans that align with business objectives.
  • Data Modeling: Design and develop scalable data models that accurately represent business processes, making it easier to analyze and draw insights from data.
  • ETL Development: Build and maintain data pipelines that gather, transform, and load data from various sources into a centralized system, ensuring a smooth flow of reliable information.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Support the implementation of processes and tools to ensure data is accurate, complete, and trustworthy for analysis and decision-making.
  • Documentation and Communication: Clearly document data models, pipelines, and processes to ensure easy understanding and collaboration among team members and across the organization.
  • Performance Optimization: Regularly review and refine data pipelines and models, making sure they run efficiently and deliver data in a timely manner.
  • Staying Current: Stay up to date with new technologies and best practices in data engineering and analytics, and look for opportunities to introduce improvements where relevant.

In summary, you will be responsible for:

    • Turning raw data into valuable insights that guide business decisions.
    • Enabling business users to access and analyze data through user-friendly tools and dashboards.
    • Ensuring the reliability and accuracy of data used for reporting and analysis.
    • Acting as a bridge between technical data infrastructure and the broader business needs.

    What we’re looking for:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge on relational databases and SQL.
    • Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into best-practice technical solutions.
    • Ability to learn quickly and figure out how to use new software.
    • Interest towards business intelligence and/or information visualization.
    • Understanding of software development processes.
    • Independent working style and taking ownership of what you do, as well as ability to challenge the status quo and ask questions.
    • Good communication skills and ability to translate technical language to everyday terms.
    • Fluency in English.

      Bonus points for:

      • Have experience / knowledge about Azure and its services, i.e. Azure Synapse, Fabric, Azure data factory, Azure data lake, etc.
      • Understanding software development principles.
      • Knowledge of Procurement, Financial Reporting and Analysis, and/or Business Intelligence.

      What we offer:

      • International team members coming from over 40 nationalities.
      • Chance to explore your career playground in your own field or try new roles within Sievo.
      • Freedom and responsibility. We are looking for people who yearn for this freedom, can make the most out of it and are willing to take on the responsibility.
      • One of the coolest offices in the heart of Helsinki – or if you prefer, a flexible hybrid working mode. We also provide all essential tools to work remotely.
      • Awesome perks, including extensive healthcare, phone plan, home internet connection, referral bonus, equity program, and many more!

Now we want to hear about you!
