As a part of our growth, we are looking for a passionate Senior Azure Data Engineer to join our Cloud Data Framework team in Helsinki, Finland.

About the team

Our team designs and builds tools, libraries, data schemas, processes, and best practices for an Azure-based integration framework that our data engineers use when they implement customer-specific ELT pipelines. We research to stay on the competitive edge and quickly adopt new technology. We are part of the Product organization at Sievo - we work with the biggest and most extraordinary global customers and their ERP systems, as well as with third-party providers of data on market indexes, risk, sustainability, diversity, etc.

Sievo is working on the Big Data scale with more than 1000 active integrations for more than 70 ERP system types. Our customer base and data source landscape are growing, which puts more emphasis on us developing better tools to manage the heterogeneous landscape.

For this role, we value strong Azure data engineering experience and a mindset of building robust, upgradeable solutions. We are looking for a data engineer to help us build and modernize our data pipelines in the cloud, contributing to our vision to automate the whole lifecycle of customer data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build standard Azure solutions for our integration pipelines between customer solutions and the Sievo cloud
• Manage pipelines using Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, and automated testing
• Own and improve the ELT products built for data extraction, transformation, and loading data to the curated data zone
• Proactively suggest and implement improvements to reduce manual work, increase testing, scalability, robustness, and availability of data systems
• Maintain batch and near real-time data pipelines
• Improve tooling used by data engineers to access, transform, and validate the data
• Train and support other Data Engineering team members during the transformation to Azure

Requirements

• Previous experience in designing, implementing, and deploying data pipelines in Azure
• Experience in Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Data Lakes
• DevOps-oriented mindset
• Good scripting skills, preferably PowerShell
• Experience in Python & SQL
• Ability to innovate and work independently
• Ability to work as part of a product development team
• Responsibility and ownership

Nice-to-haves

• Background in backend software engineering
• Experience with Azure technologies, such as Synapse Analytics, Functions, Logic Apps, monitoring, security, etc.
• Experience in data pipeline migrations
• Experience in REST APIs
• Managing Infrastructure as Code. We use Bicep, but experience in any modern IaC technology applies
• Experience in building data- or integration-related software products
