Position Overview

We are seeking a results-oriented Vice President of Engineering to lead our Engineering function. In this role, you drive our engineering teams to deliver positive business outcomes and are responsible for overall well-being and performance of our 80+ engineers. In collaboration with the VP, Product Management and CTO, you will co-create Sievo’s product strategy, manage and drive the product function and turn the product vision into reality by driving operational efficiency, fostering collaboration, and delivering high-quality outcomes. You are responsible for growing our engineering organization as Sievo grows. As a member of Sievo's management team, and reporting to CEO, you will play a crucial role in shaping Sievo’s overall strategic decisions and organizational direction. Our Engineering function consists currently of 13 teams and over 80 employees, offering a diverse and dynamic environment to lead and grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Execution Leadership. Ensure that the product vision is realized through excellence in execution and operational efficiency.
• Team Development. Recruit, mentor, and retain top engineering talent, including engineering managers, while building a high-performing, inclusive, and motivated engineering team. Develop and grow Sievo’s engineering team as Sievo grows, and constantly adapt engineering organization’s design to match our developing size and needs.
• Operational Oversight. Establish and optimize engineering processes, tools, and systems to ensure efficient and predictable project delivery.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration. Partner with the VP, Product Management, CTO and other functions, to define and deliver features that meet customer needs.
• Budget Responsibility. Manage our overall engineering budget, including both personnel and 3rd party costs effectively.

• Technology Management. Oversee the design, development, and delivery of scalable, reliable, and secure products and platforms.
• Innovation and Trends. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve and innovate.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of growing and managing large engineering teams and driving successful execution, preferably in a B2B SaaS setting.
• Proven competence in attracting and hiring high quality engineering talent, including engineering managers.
• As our product teams are largely based out of Helsinki, willingness and capability to work from Helsinki office multiple days a week.
• Deep understanding of software development methodologies, cloud technologies, and scalable architecture.
• At home in a modern, highly autonomous organization where people are treated as humans, not as resources.
• Strong focus on operational efficiency and delivering results.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a focus on fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Experience with modern microservices-oriented software architectures, cloud platforms and AI / ML plus.
• Experience working with Azure stack.
