Data Engineering Specialist

About the role

Join our Data Engineering team and help ensure our clients’ data integrations run smoothly, reliably, and efficiently.

As a Junior Data Engineering Specialist, you’ll monitor, maintain, and optimize existing data integrations, troubleshooting issues, improving performance, and ensuring accurate data flow end to end.

You’ll work closely with experienced Data Engineers and collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to understand reported problems, communicate progress clearly, and deliver timely fixes and enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor, maintain, and optimize existing data integration solutions for clients
• Develop new data integration or data engineering tasks as per client requirements
• Provide excellent customer support and communication throughout the support lifecycle
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of data solutions

What we are looking for from you:

• Strong SQL skills and confidence working with data.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on data quality.
• Practical problem-solver who enjoys troubleshooting and improving existing solutions.
• Genuine interest in ETL/integration work, especially in Azure environments.
• Clear communicator—able to explain issues and progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ownership and independence—comfortable taking responsibility and driving tasks to completion.
• Ability to work with large datasets and keep performance in mind.
• Interest in automation and streamlining repetitive processes.
• Comfortable in a client-facing role when needed.
• Confident to speak up and challenge assumptions—we value constructive questions and continuous improvement.
• Fluent English (additional languages are a plus).

Extra Points for

• Experience/Knowledge in ETL, or in Microsoft Azure (ADF, Databricks), SSIS, Python
• Knowledge of procurement and different ERPs such as SAP, Oracle, Sage, D365, etc.

This is a full-time, entry-level, position that provides a great starting point for your career in Sievo. The salary for this position ranges from 7000 to 8500 RON/net per month. This is a hybrid role, and candidate is expected to be based in Bucharest.
