Data Steward

About the team

We’re looking for a Data Steward to join our Data Management team in Bucharest and help scale our next-generation supplier data capabilities. You’ll be part of the team behind Sievo’s newly established central Supplier Database- a global dataset with millions of company records-used to power better procurement insights for customers worldwide.

This team is at the center of:

• ensuring high-quality supplier data during customer migrations,
• delivering centralized data services that are used across the organization, and
• continuously expanding the supplier information we host to unlock new customer value.

About the role

In this role, you’ll combine analytical thinking, a data quality mindset, and customer collaboration to keep our supplier data accurate, scalable, and useful. The work includes recurring data quality and migration cycles, so you’ll thrive if you enjoy structured, detail-oriented tasks-and you’ll also have room to improve the process and tooling over time.

You will:

• Build, monitor, and maintain data quality in Sievo’s central supplier database.
• Validate AI-assisted supplier normalization and confirm how 3rd party data connects to harmonized suppliers.
• Migrate customer supplier data into the new central tool- helping customers transition smoothly and confidently.
• Work hands-on with Sievo’s proprietary tools, Microsoft SQL, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Share practical improvement ideas for the tools and processes behind our centralized data services.
• Support other Data Management teams by sharing tooling and methodology.
• Collaborate internally with Sievonians and also represent centralized data services externally with customers.
• Keep what you build robust, sustainable, and scalable- quality and long-term thinking matter here.
• Speak up and challenge the status quo- we value people who improve things, not just maintain them.

What we’re looking for:

• An independent working style and a natural ability to take ownership.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort handling large volumes of data.
• Genuine interest in working with customers and helping them succeed.
• SQL enthusiasm (you don’t need to be a wizard- curiosity and willingness to learn go a long way).
• A mindset of continuous development, you like getting better and learning new things.
• Fluency in English (other languages are a plus).
• Clear, thoughtful communication skills.

Extra points if you have

• Experience with Master Data Management.
• Experience using SQL and working with big datasets.
• Knowledge or understanding of procurement.

The salary range for this role is 4000 to 5000 RON/NET per month. This is an entry-level position that provides a great starting point in your career in Sievo.
