Meet Sievo!
Sievo is a fast-growing B2B SaaS company from Finland. Our super-power is procurement analytics: we help the world’s largest organizations understand their procurement data, make data-driven decisions, reduce emissions, and build supply chain resilience. Today, around 2% of global GDP is processed through Sievo every year.
We work with global companies such as Kellogg’s, Levi’s, and Deutsche Telekom. Our 400+ Sievonians are based in Helsinki, Chicago, Bucharest and London.
About the role
As Data Management Team Lead (Customer Operations), you’ll own the data management side of first tier ticket resolution and lead a team of about 10 specialists. This isn’t just back-end cleanup. Your team is client-facing and consultative—you’ll help customers with data classification struggles and turn analytics into clear answers. And as things evolve, you’ll make sure every Sievo module continues to run smoothly when customers' data structures change.
As a Team Lead you will:
- Lead and coach a team of Data Management Specialists in Bucharest (day-to-day guidance, one-on-ones, growth discussions, feedback, performance support)
- Act as the first point of contact for your team members and support their wellbeing, workload balance, and development
- Own prioritization: plan and re-plan work based on urgency, impact, capacity, and customer expectations—while staying flexible with ad hoc requests
- Handle stakeholder escalations with good judgement: make independent decisions on the best approach and align when needed
- Deliver (together with your team) high-quality ticket support for our customers, especially in terms of spend classification questions
- Drive a consultative support approach: help customers understand why results look the way they do, what changes mean, and what the best next step is
- Actively communicate with customers via tickets, email, phone, and online meetings—clear, structured, and customer-first
- Ensure everything you and your team delivers is robust, sustainable, and scalable (not “one-off fixes”)
- Collaborate with other Data Management Team Leads and stakeholders to improve processes, tooling, and ways of working across Sievo
- Work hands-on (and enable your team to work effectively) with Sievo’s proprietary tools, Freshdesk, and Microsoft SQL
What we are looking for from you
- Strong customer-facing communication-you can explain complex data and classification logic clearly and confidently
- Demonstrated leadership potential-you can mentor and support others, give constructive feedback, and help create a healthy, collaborative team environment (formal people-management experience is a plus, not required)
- Solid prioritization and coordination skills, with practical habits for planning, re-planning, and handling ad hoc work
- Sound judgement in stakeholder management and escalations: able to decide independently and align when needed
- Hands-on experience for investigating data, validating assumptions, and supporting decisions
- A continuous improvement mindset: you spot gaps in process/tooling and drive changes through to implementation
- High ownership and proactivity-you take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks
- Able to perform under pressure while promoting sustainable ways of working for yourself and the team
- Fluency in English (other languages are a plus)
Extra points for
- Familiarity with procurement/spend topics
- Experience with Master Data Management or similar data governance practices
- Experience with ticketing/tools such as Freshdesk and working with proprietary/internal tooling
