We are Sievo - the Global Leader in Procurement Analytics. We are growing, improving, ambitious, on our way around the world and through the clouds! As a part of our growth, we are looking for a passionate Senior Azure Data Engineer to join our product development team in Helsinki, Finland.

Our product development teams are responsible for designing and creating services that add more value to our customers. You would be part of a fully DevOps capable team composed of software developers, analytics engineers, and a product manager. Together, the team can source the data, uncover hidden treasures from it, cast magic on it, and provide valuable insights to the customers via meaningful charts!

We are currently designing and building a fully cloud native way to do data processing in Azure. That includes tasks like outlier detection, keyword extraction, data classification and much more! The aim is to create scalable multitenant services that can be configurable for the customers.

For this role, we value strong Azure Data Engineering experience and a DataOps mindset. We are looking for an individual who can analyze problems and choose the best way to solve them. In addition to problem-solving, you are expected to build and monitor our data pipelines in the cloud, contributing to our vision to automate the whole lifecycle of customer data pipelines in the product team.

Responsibilities

• Design how to orchestrate Azure data pipelines
• Manage pipelines using Infrastructure-as-Code, GIT, CI/CD, and automated testing
• Implement various data processing services and algorithms
• Define the optimal schema and data partitioning strategy
• Proactively suggest and implement improvements to reduce manual work, increase testing, scalability, robustness, and availability of data systems
• Maintain batch and near real-time data pipelines
• Improve tooling used by engineers to access, transform, and validate the data
• Train and support other engineers and teams during the transformation to Azure

Requirements

• Experience in designing, implementing, and deploying data pipelines in Azure
• Experience with Spark
• Experience in SQL and NoSQL
• Ability to innovate and work in a team with mixed skillset
• Responsibility and ownership
• DevOps oriented mindset

Nice-to-haves

• Background in BI tooling
• Knowledge around machine learning
• Knowledge of C# and/or JavaScript programming languages
• Broader experience with Azure technologies, Functions, Logic Apps, monitoring, security, etc.
