No tricks needed, just yourself – 5 tips to exceed in Sievo Recruitment
I’m Janina. I recently joined Sievo to hire the next generation of Sievonians. We’ve already made a number of hires in the past two months and look to have 30 more colleagues by the end of the year! I’ve had a front row seat to meet all our applicants and it occurred to me that maybe I could give some tips on all the skilled individuals that are eager to join us. So here are a few:
Several applicants have emailed and asked us, if they should apply with this and that background. My answer is always – “yes you should.” Even if your background might not be a perfect fit for a role, we are a growing company, you never know what kind of competence we might soon need. We make an effort to really consider our applicants also for other positions or tasks inside Sievo than the ones they originally applied for.
And if you are not totally sure, give us a call! We have a number for a manager who to contact directly in our job ads, so it’s easy to have a chat about your future career wishes.
Nothing is more appealing than an applicant who has given some thought on why they would like to work at Sievo. You can read up on our blog about what makes Sievo unique. It’s really nice if you have variety of work experience and several degrees, BUT… they might not all be relevant to the position you’re applying for. If possible, choose maximum of three positions and degrees (3+3) which you want to showcase in your resume, preferably the latest ones. You can of course mention the others with short remarks. Two pages are more than enough for a resume length, it also shows your capability to squeeze up your presentations.
If I had to point out one thing that divides the good candidates from the rest, it’s that they always have a lot of questions in an interview. They are eager to find out what Sievo is like, what we do, who we are and how we do the magic. And we love to share!
We are not looking for unicorns (though sometimes it might feel like it). We are looking for people like us; Quality orientated achievers, who like to have fun (in and out of the office) and have a life (outside the office). Ultimately, we want to know who you are and what you want to achieve; perhaps hear a success story and what you’re looking for in a best place to work?
